NigeriaDecides 2023: Yahaya Re-elected As Gombe Governor

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Inuwa Yahaya, has been re-elected as the Governor of Gombe State during the Saturday’s governorship election. 

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Prof. Maimuna Waziri, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Gashua, Yobe declared the result on Sunday in Gombe. 

She noted that Yahaya polled 342, 821 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Jibrin Barde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 233, 131 votes. 

Waziri hinted that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) flagbearer, Khamisu Mailantarki polled 19,861 votes while Labour Party's Keftin Amuga also polled 1,753.

The governor won in nine out of the 11 Local Government Areas of the state, with a wide margin of 109,690 votes against the PDP candidate. 

She pegged the number of registered voters as 1,575,794, while 618,231 voters were accredited. 

The number of valid votes was 605,355. About 11,390 votes were rejected and 616,745 was the total votes cast.

National Parks Panacea In Mitigating Climate Change- Olory

Emerging Diseases: EHCON Faults Health Workers For Neglecting PPEs
