Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has deployed 100 armed operatives to combat vote-buying during the Saturday, April 15, 2023, supplementary elections in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States. In an interview with newsmen on Friday, Kano Zonal Commander of EFCC, Mr Farouk Dogondaji, said that 20 personnel were deployed to monitor the state Assembly elections in Kafur and Kankara, Katsina. He stated that adequate personnel were also deployed to monitor the exercise in Tudun Wada/Doguwa, and Takai federal constituencies of Kano state. Dogondaji hinted that other personnel were deployed for house of Assembly elections in Katsina and Jigawa to prevent vote buying. The zonal commander informed that EFCC deployed officers to Malam Aminu Kano International airport and other metropolis in Kano to arrest vote-buyers.
