The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has issued a 30-day ultimatum to foreign broadcasters with offices in Nigeria and beam their signals into the country to register with the commission . This is even as the commission encouraged Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and other broadcast stations streaming online, to also register in order to avoid disconnection and prosecution. Director-General of NBC, Malam Balarabe Ilelah disclosed this at the presentation of letters to the 67 newly approved licensees on Friday in Abuja. He noted that NBC is determined to join forces with security agencies to clamp down on illegal broadcasters in the country.
