NDLEA Arrests 41-year-old Canadian For Importing Illicit Drugs

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 41-year-old Canadian woman, Adrienne Munju for importing a large consignment of a strong strain of synthetic cannabis called ‘Canadian Loud’. She was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos during inward clearance of passengers on a KLM flight from Canada at Terminal 1 on October 3, 2024. During a joint examination of her three bags by the operatives, Adrienne, who was in Nigeria for the first time, was found with 74 parcels of the illicit substance weighing 35.20 kilograms, and stuffed in two of her three bags. In her confessional statement, Adrienne claimed that she was recruited to traffic the consignment through an online platform for 10,000 Canadian dollars upon successful delivery in Lagos. NDLEA Uncovers Hard Drugs Inside Winter Jacket, Body Lotion

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered consignments of Tramadol, Rohypnol, Ecstasy (Designer drug) and Cannabis concealed in winter jackets and bottles of body cream in Lagos. NDLEA Director, Media and Advocacy, Mr Femi Babafemi, said on Sunday in Abuja, that the drugs were seized at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Friday.  He noted that the psychoactive substances were recovered at the new terminal of the airport, following the arrest of a passenger, Joshua Sunday, who was traveling on a Qatar Airline flight via Doha to Oman, Middle East. Babafemi disclosed that a thorough search of the suspect’s two black bags led to the discovery of 4.80 kg of cannabis. He pointed out that the cannabis were concealed in three winter jackets and various quantities of tramadol, rohypnol, ecstasy (designer drug) and cannabis hidden in bottles of body lotion.
