Aljazirah Honours Works Minister, Umahi With Infrastructure Icon Award

BY CHIKA OKEKE, Abuja Aljazirah Nigeria Newspaper has honoured the Minister of Works,  Engr. David Umahi with the 2025 Personality of the Year Award as Infrastructure Transformation Champion.  The organisers said that the recognition followed months of independent scrutiny, investigations, and verification of projects under the Ministry of Works. Umahi received the award alongside  the Permanent Secretary and Directors of the ministry. He said: "I am here with my team, including the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Works and all the Directors. I am deeply touched by this award." According to him, what struck him most was not the accolade itself, but the process behind it. "What makes this recognition particularly important to me is the process behind it. Umahi Pays Tribute To Politician Par Excellence, Iwuanyanwu

BY CHIKA OKEKE, Abuja          Late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu  Minister of Works, Engr David Umahi has paid glowing tribute to a politician par excellence, Late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, reminiscing his worthy achievement.  The philanthropist, who was a former President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, an Igbo apex group died on July 25, 2024, at the age of 82 years. FG Threatens To Revoke N740 bn Abuja - Kaduna Road Contract

The Federal Government has threatened to revoke Section I of the Abuja - Kaduna road project awarded to Messrs Julius Berger (Nig.) Plc over slow pace of work.  News Rider reports that the contract for the rehabilitation of Abuja -Kano was originally awarded to Messrs Julius Berger (Nig.) Plc in in 2018.  The road project was divided into sections for ease of construction such as Abuja - Kaduna (Section I), Kaduna - Zaria (Section II) and Zaria - Kano (Section III). Section II is substantially completed, while Section III is at an advanced stage of completion but Section I is only about 27% completed.
