KDSG Declares Curfew In Two LGAs As Bandits Kill 15

Kaduna State Government on Monday declared 24-hour curfew in Jema’a and Kaura local government areas.

This followed attacks on the two Southern Kaduna communities by bandits on Sunday night, which resulted to the death of over 15 persons.

A source who spoke on condition of anonymity, claimed that over 15 persons were killed at Agban Kagoro in Kaura local government area, adding that several houses were burnt down when gunmen attacked the community. 

However, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan said the curfew was declared in Jema’a and Kaura local government areas with immediate effect. following advice from security agencies. 

In a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna, he stated that the curfew  would assist the security agencies to stablise peace, save lives and properties, while maintaining law and order in the locality. 

He stated that security agencies were fully authorised to enforce the 24-hour curfew. 
The state government appealed to all residents in the affected communities to cooperate with the security agencies in its urgent task of restoring peace and upholding law and order.

The commissioner further condemned the violence and all acts of lawlessness that had occurred in the area. 

He said that further updates would be issued when necessary.

"Following advice from security agencies, the Kaduna State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew in Jema’a and Kaura local government areas with immediate effect".

“This is to assist the security agencies to stabilise the situation in the areas, save lives and property and enable the restoration of law and order."

“The security agencies have full authorization to enforce the curfew. Government appeals to all residents of Jema’a and Kaura local government areas to cooperate with the security agencies in the urgent task of restoring peace and upholding law and order."

“Government condemns the violence and all acts of lawlessness that have occurred in the area. Further updates will be issued as necessary.”

Emerging Diseases: EHCON Faults Health Workers For Neglecting PPEs
