Buhari, Others Pray For Late UAE President In Abu Dhabi

President Muhammadu Buhari joined Muslims on Friday to observe Jummah prayers for the repose of the soul of late President of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE,

He was accompanied by members of the Nigerian delegation, who were on a condolence and congratulatory visit to the country, following the death of Sheikh Khalifa and the subsequent election of his successor, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

A statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu revealed that the President attended the Friday prayers at Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed, The First Mosque.

In a sermon titled: ‘‘Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, the loss of the Nation’’, read at all the Friday Mosques across UAE, the Chief Imam of the mosque, Sheikh Ali Alhamoudi thanked God for the life and legacies of the late President.

He described the late President as a forerunner in charitable works and humanitarian initiatives, adding that through his efforts, numerous mosques and hospitals were built, schools and universities were founded, while cities and institutions were established.

”Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed (may Allah have mercy on him) was always close to the people with his excellent morals and character. He was well-known among them for his praiseworthy qualities in this regard, and our prophet said: ‘The dearest and the closest of you to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who are the best in character.’

The Imam stated that Sheikh Khalifa promoted the principles of justice in the UAE, so as to guarantee peace and equality, irrespective of their religions and nationalities.

On the new leadership, the Imam said that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was chosen by the Emirates and its rulers, its Sheikhs and its people, given his caapcity to lead the UAE towards attaining global leadership.

Prayers were also offered for the success of the new president, the Vice-President, the Crown Prince and his brothers, and the rulers of the Emirates.

Emerging Diseases: EHCON Faults Health Workers For Neglecting PPEs

Video: Civil Servants Write Promotional Exams In Darkness

Staff of Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Abuja are currently writing their promotional examination in darkness.  In the 11 seconds video, the civil servants were seen writing the examination with torchlight and assistive light from their phones.  Findings revealed that the hall, which has poor lighting and ventilation compelled staff battling with poor eyesight to struggle to read the examination.  Regretably, the question papers were not typed but hand written, photocopied and distributed to the civil servants.  An eyewitness told News Rider that the promotional exams earlier scheduled for November 9, 2023 by 10am, started at the Conference Hall, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Phase 1, Federal Secretariat Abuja.
