BY CHIKA OKEKE, Abuja

        Apostle Suleman

The President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman has informed Nigerians to expect more lies over his assassination attempt, adding that lies are their source of livelihood.

This is coming barely four days after his convoy was attacked on Friday by gunmen along the Benin–Auchi Road, Edo State.

BOblog learnt that the cleric returned from a foreign trip and was heading for a destination in the state when the gunmen attacked his convoy, leading to the death of three policemen and four others.

I Didn't Chase Away Slain Officers Families
On his Twitter handle @APOSTLESULEMAN, he said, "I was just told that some social media platforms carried that some families of the slain policemen came to my house and were chased away. "

"My worry is the confidence with which people lie..Nothing of such happened. Expect more of their lies, it’s their source of livelihood", he added.

In an earlier post, the cleric pointed out that a police officer named Seyi Peter Alfred accused him of using mobile policemen for rituals, adding that he had never met or seen the officer before.
        Seyi Peter Alfred

"This is an acclaimed police officer called Seyi Peter Alfred. He made posts on Facebook that has gone viral..that he used to give me moblie policemen and I used them for rituals..I have never met him in life or dream..he said the girl that died goes to places for me."

He claimed that the girl that was shot was one of those we do havoc together..that girl was just 15yrs old..if all you are saying is true, may God bless you but if not may you be disgraced..I don’t reply people but this is a supposed officer of the law lying like satan."

He added, "I have reported him to the Inspector General of Police and appropriate qtrs..he that alleges must prove..I think it’s time I start speaking out because silence is considered consent..I will address many lies that have gone on for years with proofs and people will be shocked."

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, who had esrlier confirmed the attack, said that six persons, including policemen and Suleman’s drivers were killed, saying that plans were underway to locate the whereabouts of the cleric’s domestic worker.

“The attack is confirmed. Three policemen were murdered; two of his (Suleman’s) drivers were killed; one domestic female worker was killed and they are still searching for another female domestic worker."

“As we speak, Apostle Johnson Suleman is safe. One of the hoodlums was gunned down and one of the vehicles was recovered,” Nwabuzor added.
Suleman however condemned the action of the police for killing the arrested prime suspect involved in the attack.

Gov Peter Obi Condemns Attack
Reacting to the incident, the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi said that the attack underscored the level of insecurity in Nigeria, describing it as acts of terrorism, violence and criminality.

In a comment posted through his verified Twitter handle @PeterObi, the Ex-governor of Anambra State said, "The recent attack on the Founder of Omega Fire Ministries, @APOSTLESULEMAN, underscores the level of insecurity in our nation. Ugly acts like these are reported from different parts of the country on a daily basis, and it is saddening."

"Such acts of terrorism, violence and criminality are highly condemnable. The high level of insecurity that has continued to plague our nation has continued to clog up the nation's wheel of progress."

He restated his commitment on fight against insecurity if elected as the president of Nigeria, just as he prayed that God should comfort the bereaved families.

'I restate my commitment to the fight against insecurity as my first priority in governance when voted into power. I am saddened by the lives lost during the attack; one life lost to insecurity, is one too many. I pray God to grant the victims eternal rest."

"May God also comfort the bereaved families. I call on the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of such acts and bring them to book", he concluded.
