EPO Wants Staff To Embrace Skills Acquisition For Optimal Results

The Ecological Project Office (EPO) has enjoined the management and staff of the office to develop themselves by embracing capacity building programmes, personal skill acquisition, seminars, reading books and online training opportunities for optimal results. 

Permanent Secretary of EPO, Mallam Shehu Ibrahim, who stated this in Abuja recently at the maiden meeting with the staff of EPO, enjoined the staff to synergise with one another so as to maximize their full potentials. 

He said that effective collaboration would improve their work ethics, adding that the essence of the meeting was to familiarise with the staff for a robust working relationship. 

This, he believed would quicken the actualisation of the mandate of EPO, urging the staff to be diligent, committed and focused on their work, shun gossips and avoid spreading fake news. 

Ibrahim stated that any knowledge acquired in the discharge of their duties would be an added value and a reference point for higher responsibilities while in active service. 

The permanent secretary encouraged the staff to seek for clarifications to avoid being misguided by fake news, adding that service entails cooperation and not competition.

He commended his predecessor for laying a solid foundation for the development of the office, promising to improve on the existing structures. 

On his part, the EPO Director of Pollution Control, Mr Clinton Igwe said that the office was designed to attain perfection and has witnessed a trajectory of progress over time.

He was optimistic that the new permanent secretary would assist the staff to attain excellence in their diverse career.  

While describing the permanent secretary as an astute professional, he advised the staff to take advantage of his wealth of experience and improve on their work ethics.

Earlier, the Deputy Director overseeing the Office of the Director, Special Duties, Mallam Abdu Yahaya commended the permanent secretary for his swift action in convening the maiden meeting. 

He advised the staff to be dedicated while discharging their responsibilities.

Emerging Diseases: EHCON Faults Health Workers For Neglecting PPEs
