Davido, Chioma make first public appearance after son’s death

Nigeria’s Afro-pop singer, Davido Adeleke and wife, Chioma Rowland made their first public appearance after the death of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.

The duo were spotted on Sunday.at the inauguration of Davido's uncle, Sen Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Sen Adeleke was sworn-in as the sixth executive governor of the State at the Osogbo City Stadium.

Davido was adorned in a traditional attire alongside members of the Adeleke’s dynasty, including his father, Billionaire Adedeji Adeleke.

Nigerians were however stunned after the family's group photograph, when Dr Deji Adeleke requested to know Chioma's whereabouts.

He said, "David, where is Chioma."

Recall that Davido played a massive role during Sen Adeleke's campaign and election, which led to his emergence as the  Osun governor-elect  in July, 2022.

Briefly
Ifeanyi was the first son of Davido Adeleke and Chioma Rowland.

The three-year-old lad was reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at the singer's Banana Island house in Lagos on Monday, 31st October, 2022 while the parents were at Ibadan, Oyo State for a family meeting.

News of Ifeanyi's death was first shared with a broken-heart emoji by a close friend and celebrity, Eniola Badmus, who had since deleted the post.

The police responded swiftly to the crime and arrested eight of Davido’s domestic staff.

After series of interrogation, six of the staff were released while the nanny and cook were detained over negligence.

However, the autopsy conducted on Ifeanyi's corpse revealed that he died as a result of drowning.

EFCC: You Do Not Change A Winning Team

By Iliyasu Gashinbaki          Iliyasu Gashinbaki I have read the letter from the former President, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, addressed to the Chairmen of the Constitution Review Committee of both chambers of the National Assembly- Deputy Senate President and Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives.  I was looking for his prayers to the esteemed lawmakers on clear and unambiguous anomalies he observed in the Establishment Act of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that need legislative action in the review exercise. I must confess, I could not find any.  Instead, the legal luminary made a sweeping statement that is neither rooted in facts nor verifiable evidence that “I very strongly believe the EFCC is unconstitutionally established. The powers under which it was established go beyond the powers of the National Assembly. The EFCC is an unlawful organisation.” How? I have asked myself repeatedl...
