The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Olu Falae, has been crowned the first monarch of Ilu-Abo in Akure North Local Council of Ondo State.
Falae, who was also the former Minister of Finance received his staff of office on Thursday as the Oluabo of Ilu-Abo.
Presenting the instrument of authority, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, noted that the chieftaincy stool of the community was upgraded based on the report and recommendation of the Justice Ajama Commission set up by the immediate past administration in the state.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Gbenga Ale, the governor pleaded with traditional rulers not to allow the upgrade cause anarchy in the state.
He described the new monarch as a hardworking elder statesman interested in developing his community, adding that Falae is one of the few highly reputable and respected personalities, not only within Ondo State but also in Nigeria and beyond.
Akeredolu stated that the presentation of the staff office was a long-awaited victory and a big breakthrough for the entire people of Ilu-Abo and Ondo State generally.
In his acceptance speech, Falae expressed his willingness to join forces with his subjects to bring unprecedented development to the community.
