Singer Portable Storms Concert In White Coffin

Nigeria's Afrobeat singer, Omololami Okikiola fondly known as Portable shook the music industry on Wednesday night at his first star concert in Lagos.

The Zazu crooner was brought on stage in a white coffin by a group of pallbearers.

Tagged ‘Portable Live in Concert,’ the show took place at the Afrikan Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos.
But as the pallbearers dressed in white dropped the coffin with Portable in it, the lights were dimmed and later went off, leaving the space dark.

As soon as the stage was illuminated again, the pallbearers placed the coffin on their shoulders.

In a bid to stir confusion among the audience, they placed the coffin on the ground, opened it and Portable immediately jumped out as if he has been battling with a 'strange spirit'.

He instantly began to perform on stage.

Before the show, Portable had visited the Chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo to invite and seek his blessings for his concert.

He shared photos with MC Oluomo, who he referred to as Daddy, while both of them displayed a box containing the Live In concert package.

Sharing the news on his Instagram handle @portablebaeby on Tuesday, he wrote: “So I went visiting my daddy @kingmcoluomo today as my concert is nearby. My daddy is also coming through for the concert, see you all tomorrow biza biza #portableliveinconcert #portablelive”.

EFCC: You Do Not Change A Winning Team

By Iliyasu Gashinbaki          Iliyasu Gashinbaki I have read the letter from the former President, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, addressed to the Chairmen of the Constitution Review Committee of both chambers of the National Assembly- Deputy Senate President and Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives.  I was looking for his prayers to the esteemed lawmakers on clear and unambiguous anomalies he observed in the Establishment Act of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that need legislative action in the review exercise. I must confess, I could not find any.  Instead, the legal luminary made a sweeping statement that is neither rooted in facts nor verifiable evidence that “I very strongly believe the EFCC is unconstitutionally established. The powers under which it was established go beyond the powers of the National Assembly. The EFCC is an unlawful organisation.” How? I have asked myself repeatedl...
