The immediate past Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Jibrilla Bindow has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He confirmed his exit from the APC on Tuesday evening in a letter addressed to the APC chairman Kolere Ward in Mubi North Local Government Area.
This development brings to rest his weeks of rumored absence from APC activities, which Bindow had frantically denied.
He attributed unresolved crisis within the party at the state level, events of the 2019 general election and the 2022 Governorship primary as the major reasons for discarding the APC.
Bindow disclosed that lack of genuine reconciliation with aggrieved stakeholders within the party in Adamawa State since last year's governorship primary placed him at a disadvantaged position.
He occupied the Senatorial seat for Adamawa North District from 2011 to 2015 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In the build-up to the 2015 election, he defected to the APC and won the Gubernatorial ticket. He piloted the affairs of Adamawa from 2015 to 2019 before his eventual exit from the party on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
The former governor is yet to announce his next party but sources confirmed that he may likely find solace in the PDP.
