About 17 passengers cheated death on Monday as a boat en route Ebute Ero from Ikorodu in Lagos State capsized.
An eyewitness disclosed that the incident happened at about 7:a.m on Monday around the Third Mainland Bridge, close to Bariga ferry terminal.
He noted that the passengers were lucky to have escaped unhurt compared to other incidents that led to the death of two or more persons.
The General Manager of Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) Mr Oluwadamilola Emmanuel confirmed the incident.
He noted that the disruption, which occurred around the Third Mainland Bridge, close to Bariga ferry terminal, involved a commercial passenger ferry named Fazma logistics.
Emmanuel said that all the passengers were rescued by first responders including officers of the LASWA.
He hinted that the boat was recovered immediately while the boat captain was being interrogated.
The GM stated that investigation is ongoing to ascertain the possible and remote cause of the accident.
