9mobile Invests N70bn On Network Modernisation

One of Nigeria's telecommunications companies, 9mobile has invested N70 billion on its ongoing network modernisation.

This was even as additional 600 new sites, equipped with 4G LTE facilities would be deployed alongside the new broadband services to enlarge its fibre network across some Nigerian cities.

Chief Executive Officer of 9mobile, Juergen Peschel, disclosed this at the just concluded annual Channel Partners Conference in Lagos.

Peschel said that the interventions became crucial to enhance its operations and market competitiveness, adding that it would be extended to other technical, digital and organisational upgrade to demonstrate 9mobile’s core values of innovation, quality of service and customer-centricity.

He noted that the company is on the path of resurgence following the enormous investments into its network operations and a strong commitment by the board and management to aggressively reclaim market share.

The CEO added: “9mobile is on the path of resurgence. We are taking back lost territories in the market and forging ahead to reclaim our innovative position and industry leadership.

“The years ahead are promising when you consider the level of expansion we are embarking on."

The Chief Sales Officer at 9mobile, Victor Nwaobia, hinted that the the unique relationship enjoyed by the company with its committed channel partners bolstered its growth over the years.

He stated that retaining almost 75 per cent of its channel partners over the years is a massive testament and commitment to the company's business strategies.

Video: Civil Servants Write Promotional Exams In Darkness

Staff of Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Abuja are currently writing their promotional examination in darkness. In the 11 seconds video, the civil servants were seen writing the examination with torchlight and assistive light from their phones. Findings revealed that the hall, which has poor lighting and ventilation compelled staff battling with poor eyesight to struggle to read the examination. Regretably, the question papers were not typed but hand written, photocopied and distributed to the civil servants.
