Insecurity: Tinubu Fires Service Chiefs, IGP, NSA, Names Replacement ***Generals Musa, Lagbaja, Ribadu, Others Make List


Worried by the heightened security challenges especially in the North East, President Bola Tinubu has fired the entire Service Chiefs, National Security Adviser, Inspector-General of  Police and Comptroller-General of Customs. 

This was even as he approved their immediate retirement from service and named their replacements. 

A statement by the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Willie Bassey, on Monday in Abuja revealed that the new appointment takes effect immediately. 

The appointees are National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu; Chief of Defence Staff, Maj.-Gen. Christopher Musa; Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Taofeeq Lagbaja; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral E. A Ogalla and Chief of Air Staff, AVM H.B Abubakar.

Others are Acting Inspector-General of Police, DIG Kayode Egbetokun; Chief of Defense Intelligence, Maj.-Gen. EPA Undiandeye; Commander Brigade of Guards, Col. Adebisi Onasanya and Guards Battalion, Asokoro, Abuja, Lt.-Col. Moshood Abiodun Yusuf.  

Also appointed are 177 Guards Battalion, Keffi, Nasarawa State, Lt.-Col. Auwalu Baba Inuwa; 102 Guards Battalion, Suleja, Niger, Lt.-Col. Mohammed J. Abdulkarim and 176 Guards Battalion, Gwagwalada, Abuja, Lt.- Col. Olumide A. Akingbesote.

In addition, the President approved the appointment of other military officers in the Presidential Villa as Commanding Officer State House Artillery, Maj.- Isa Farouk Audu and Second-in-Command, State House Artillery, Capt. Kazeem Olalekan Sunmonu. 

The rest are Commanding Officer, State House Military Intelligence, Maj. Kamaru Koyejo Hamzat; Commanding Officer, State House Armament, Maj. TS Adeola and Second-in- Command, State House Armament. Lt. A. Aminu. 

Tinubu also approved the appointment of two additional Special Advisers and two Senior Assistants.

They are Special Adviser, Policy Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman; Special Adviser, Culture and Entertainment Economy, Hannatu Musawa and Senior Special Assistant, National Assembly Matters, Senate, Sen. Abdullahi  Gumel. 

Also, Senior Special Assistant, National Assembly Matters, House of Representatives, Olarewaju Kunle Ibrahim.

Similarly, the President appointed Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Adeniyi Bashir Adewale. 

The appointed Service Chiefs, Inspector-General of Police and Comptroller General of Customs would pilot their affairs in acting capacity pending their confirmation in accordance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

EHCON Seals Deal With SEPHON, EPHPAN, WAHEB To Revamp Environmental, Public Health
