Troops Rescue 25 Hostages From Boko Haram Captivity


Determined to wipe out remnants of Boko Haram  enclaves in Borno and surrounding States, troops of 144 Battalion have rescued 25 hostages from the terrorists den. 

Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu said on Monday that the gallant troops extricated 14 hostages in conjunction with Hybrid Force. 

He noted that the hostages, which comprise six women and eight children were rescued during a clearance operation at Gobara village in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno on Saturday.

Nwachukwu said that the troops of 82 Task Force Battalion in conjunction with Hybrid Force, raided the terrorists enclave in Gava village in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno and rescued 11 civilians in a similar operation on Sunday.

He informed that all the rescued victims are presently in troops’ custody undergoing profiling.

The Army spokesman hinted that seven members of Boko Haram family surrendered to troops of 81 Division Task Force Battalion at Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno, in a separate operation on Sunday.

In an anti-banditry operation on Sunday in Kaduna State,  Nwachukwu disclosed that troops of 2 Battalion, Nigerian Army, acting on actionable information neutralised one criminal and freed four kidnap victims in Kwana Shehu Village, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.

He pointed out that the rescued victims had since been reunited with their families.
The spokesperson pleaded with the public to support the troops with credible information to enhance ongoing operations across the country.

EHCON Seals Deal With SEPHON, EPHPAN, WAHEB To Revamp Environmental, Public Health
