Tinubu Disengages Heads Of Aviation Agencies, Names Replacement


President Bola Tinubu has disengaged the Heads of Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development:

The affected agencies are Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) and Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). 

To the end, the President named their replacements in line with his determination to bring world class standards to Nigerian Civil Aviation in consumer protection and the promotion of the wellbeing of Nigerian passengers and other sectoral stakeholders. 

A statement by the Presidential Spokesman, Mr Ajuri Ngelale on Wednesday revealed that the President approved the suspension, removal, and replacement of the affected CEO's. 

In the statement, the Managing Director of FAAN, Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed was replaced with Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku as the substantive Managing Director. 

The Managing Director of NAMA, Mr. Tayib Adetunji Odunowo was removed and replaced with Engr. Umar Ahmed Farouk as the substantive Managing Director. 

Also, the Director-General of NSIB, Engr. Akinola Olateru was replaced with Mr. Alex Badeh Jr. as the substantive Director-General.

The Director-General of NIMET, Prof. Mansur Bako Matazu was replaced with Prof. Charles Anosike as the substantive Director-General.

In addition, the Rector of NCAT, Capt. Alkali Mahmud Modibbo was removed and replaced with Mr. Joseph Shaka Imalighwe as the Acting Rector, pending the appointment of a substantive Rector, in accordance with Section 13 (2) of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Act, 2022.

But the Director-General of NCAA, Capt. Musa Shuaibu Nuhu was suspended from office to enable the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) conduct an unfettered investigation into his activities and other senior officials in the NCAA. 

However, Chris Najomo assumed office as the Acting Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority immediately.

Furthermore, President Tinubu approved the commencement of a diligent process to be conducted by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development to recruit a substantive Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers of the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU).

The President anticipated that the new leadership  would uphold the safety, convenience and comfort of Nigerians in all of their administrative activities. 

Due to underperformance in the sector, the President demanded the immediate establishment of world-class policy design, implementation and regulatory frameworks to reposition the sector in alignment with his Renewed Hope Agenda.

Tinubu noted that all the appointments take immediate effect.

EHCON Unveils Technology To Phase-out Emissions, Protect Public Health

It has been tested on high-capacity generators, including at the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation. Oxytane works by cleaning fuel injectors, removing carbon deposits, and improving combustion in petrol, diesel, and kerosene engines.
