NNPCL Denies Plans To Increase Petrol Price

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has denied plans to increase the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) known as petrol.

Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, Mr Olufemi Soneye informed Nigerians on Wednesday in Abuja, to disregard unfounded rumours of increase in the pump price of petrol.

He promised the public that there are no plans for an upward review of the price of petrol.
Soneye cautioned motorists against panic buying, adding that there is presently ample availability of petrol across the country.

There were viral reports on the social and mainstream media that fuel marketers under the aegis of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) clashed with NNPC Ltd over payment of subsidy.

But Soneye insisted that payment of subsidy on petroleum products had been completely eradicated. 

He denied that NNPCL never had any dispute with IPMAN over subsidy payment on petrol as alleged.

The IPMAN National President, Mr Chinedu Okoronkwo also debunked rumours of dispute with NNPCL and urged the public to ignore such news.

EHCON Unveils Technology To Phase-out Emissions, Protect Public Health

BY CHIKA OKEKE, Abuja The Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON) has unveiled a technology meant to phase-out Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and protect public health from emerging diseases, in line with the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.  Tagged Oxytane Fuel Additive, it is designed to enhance engine performance, increase fuel efficiency by over 25 percent, and reduce harmful emissions by up to 70 percent. It has been tested on high-capacity generators, including at the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation. Oxytane works by cleaning fuel injectors, removing carbon deposits, and improving combustion in petrol, diesel, and kerosene engines.
