Armed men suspected to be bandits have kidnapped two journalists, AbdulGafar Alabelewe and Abdulraheem Aodu, as well as some members of their families.
The two incidents occurred on Saturday night at Danhono 2, Millennium City, Kaduna State.
News Rider reports that Alabelewe and Aodu live in the same locality in the state.
Alabelewe, a correspondent of The Nation Newspaper and Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel in Kaduna, was kidnapped along with three members of his family.
This was even as Aodo, a Correspondent of Blueprint Newspaper was kidnapped alongside his wife.
A former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna chapter, Adamu Yusuf, and another member of the union, Tajudeen Ajigbade confirmed the abductions.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, Mansir Hassan also confirmed the incidents.
Hassan disclosed that the police have developed strategies to locate and rescue the victims unhurt.
Though no group has claimed responsibility for the abductions but kidnapping for ransom is on the increase in some parts of Kaduna and the country generally.
