Homeland Security Law Will Address Crimes Of Evil Native Doctors–ANSEC

BY CHIKA OKEKE, Abuja
Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo

The State government has revealed that the new Anambra Homeland Security Law 2025 will address crime and criminality committed by quacks and evil native doctors.

Specifically, the government revealed that the law was designed particularly for evil native doctors that pervert and alter the core values of the Igbo society as well as those who promote and teach the acquisition of wealth without work, and deceive the younger generation and unwary members of society.

This formed part of the deliberations during the second meeting of Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) at the Council Chamber on Monday.

While reviewing the impact of the new law, the council chastised those demonising and misrepresenting the new law as being against traditional worship, noting that it is an essential component of Igbo traditional religion and culture.

The council reaffirmed that the state government will not outlaw traditional worship, just as it called for moral rearmament and social re-engineering to restore the lost values of the society and ensure a healthy future for the state.

This was even as ANSEC rated Operation Udo Ga-Achi high, the state's new security intervention, urging it not to relent.

The council praised the '1Youth, 2Skills' scheme for training additional 1,000 youths since its existence in the past two years, adding that the  gesture marked the beginning of a new and exceptional era.

Also, ANSEC approved the sum of N160 million for the acquisition of five mining assets in addition to the earlier assets acquired by the Anambra State Solid Minerals Development Company.

They are Pharmaceutical Grade Kaolin Asset, Gravel Pack Asset, Glass Sand Asset, Sand Quarry and Ceramic Kaolin Asset.

It is expected that the acquisition of these assets will expand the State's involvement in the Solid Minerals Development Sector in Anambra.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information,, Anambra State, Mr Law Mefor on Tuesday in Awka.
