Works Ministry Inaugurates New Sports Club Executives, Presents Award

The Federal Ministry of Works has  inaugurated newly elected Sports Club executives, expected to strengthen the affairs of the club. 

Declaring the event open in Abuja, Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi commended the outgoing executives for their dedication. 

He was confident in the new leaders' ability to actively engage members in sporting activities within the Civil Service and the Public Service at large.

Umahi, who was represented by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, emphasised the importance of sports for the well-being of staff, noting that it extends beyond mere recreation.

He stated that sports foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and improved well-being among the ministry's staff.

Goronyo requested that as the second Grand Patron of the club, he should be considered as an official member. 

The Director of Human Resources, Aliyu Abdullahi, who represented the Permanent Secretary, applauded the management's commitment to staff welfare, unity, and sports development. 

He encouraged staff members to actively participate in sporting activities for their benefit.

The National President, Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA), Comrade Aluko Amoebi lauded the ministry’s dedication to staff welfare, unity, and promotion of sports, promising encouragement and cooperation.

The event also included the presentation of awards to individuals for their outstanding contributions in promoting sports and community service within the ministry. 

Also, the awardees were praised for their commitment, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Additionally, a sensitisation session was held to educate staff members on the significance of sports in enhancing productivity and fostering national unity through the public service games, monthly jogging, aerobics sessions, and other related activities.

EHCON Seals Deal With SEPHON, EPHPAN, WAHEB To Revamp Environmental, Public Health

CCB, NILDS Endorse CIFCFIN Agenda To Eliminate Fraud
