The Oodua integrity group has allegedly accused the Nigeria Police Force for conspiring with desperate indigenes and politicians to forcefully sale off lands belonging to Ibusa community in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State,
This was even as the group alleged that the lands were purportedly sold in order to garner the finances needed to secure the release of Fred Ajudua
To this end, the group pleaded with the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun to wade into the crisis by cautioning the Buffalo team of the Delta State Police Command to stay off illegal sale of lands.
Ajudua’s legal troubles started in 1993, when he was accused of defrauding a German businessman of $1.43 million. The Lagos-based lawyer was found guilty of advanced-fee fraud, and was jailed.
But On May 2025, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) re-arrested Ajudua in Abuja following a Supreme Court order issued on May 5, 2025, which revoked his bail and directed that he should be remanded in prison.
The integrity group cautioned the police to desist from illegal land grabbing and sales, meant to raise funds for Ajudua's freedom.
Head of Investigation, Office of the Inspector General, Olawale Olaniyi alledged that the Council Chairman, Innocent Esewezie Zezekuze led the illegality.
The group lamented that without a court order, the operation buffalo engaged in tormenting and intimidating innocent land owners against a recent warning by IGP Egbetokun that no officer should be involved in civil land matters.
They appealed to the IGP to intervene and end the existing panic among indigenes of Ibusa community.
