The Chief Executive Officer of SHEIKS & BISHOPS Consultant, Chief Sir Chikwe Udensi has formed strong alliance with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) FCT Chapter, aimed at strengthening grassroots empowerment for women, particularly in health, social welfare, security and community development.
Udensi stated this when the executives of NAWOJ FCT, led by its Chairperson, Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang visited him in Abuja.
He commended NAWOJ FCT for the market placec advocacy initiative, noting that the approach provided an opportunity for direct, one-on-one engagement with women at the grassroots.
Udensi observed that such interpersonal communication is especially important in communities where limited electricity supply could affect the reach of conventional broadcast messages.
He advised the association to expand its advocacy to include security awareness, encouraging journalists to sensitise the public on the importance of being security conscious.
Udensi called for sustained advocacy on improved welfare and remuneration for security agencies, noting that enhanced support for personnel would contribute positively to national stability.
In addition, he pledged to support the association with a bus to facilitate mobility.
He encouraged continued collaboration among stakeholders to promote social inclusion and improve the overall wellbeing of citizens.
The Chairperson of NAWOJ FCT, Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang emphasised the importance of collaboration between both organisations in advancing the cause of women, promoting gender equity, and strengthening media advocacy on critical issues such as health, governance, and social justice.
She described Chief Udensi as a visionary leader whose wealth of experience and influence would boost NAWOJ’s grassroots engagement, particularly the marketplace outreach programme.
Ikpang highlighted his contributions to national development, including his role in local government administration, innovations in vehicle and motorcycle plate numbering systems, and his engagements in governance and community development.
She noted that his professional accomplishments and commitment to societal progress placed him as a valuable partner in driving impactful advocacy initiatives.
Chief Udensi was decorated as a Patron of NAWOJ FCT for his humanitarian contributions and dedication to building a better society.
