Customs Cautions Applicants Against Viral Recruitment Update

The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has cautioned applicants against succumbing to traps set by scammers through the fake recruitment update circulating on some social media platforms.

Describing the information as fake, the Service hinted that the announcement did not originate from the NCS.  

The purported announcement reads in part: “Nigeria Customs service wishes to officially clarify its recruitment procedures following ongoing inquiries to firmly reiterate that the entire recruitment process is entirely free of charge. Under no circumstances should any candidate be requested to make any form of payment at any stage of the verification or selection process.”

Worried by the activities of scammers, the NCS advised members of the public to disregard the publication and rely only on information disseminated through the official communication channels of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The Service enjoined Nigerians to stay vigilant and verify information before circulating it on the social media, saying that genuine information about the Service can only be obtained through its verified official social media handles.

In May, the NCS had opened its recruitment portal for shortlisted 2025 candidates to complete a final screening update, fixing May 10, 2026, as the deadline for completion of the exercise.

“In continuation of the selection process leading to the final stage of the 2025 Recruitment Exercise, candidates who were successful in the previous phases are required to visit the NCS Recruitment Portal to complete a designated form.

 “The recruitment exercise is strictly free of charge, and all official communication will only be conducted through verified channels,” the May statement read.
