FG To Empower 200 Youth With Vocational, Startup Tools

The Federal Government has restrategised to empower 200 youths in Oyo State with vocational skills and start-up tools under its National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy ,NPRGS.

Coordinated by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education ,OSSAP-TVEE, the programme is designed to equip young Nigerians with practical, marketable skills and tools to pursue entrepreneurship and build sustainable livelihoods.

Scheduled to commence next week, the pilot project which begins with the South-West , would be replicated across the six geopolitical zones to expand access to skills, tools and livelihood opportunities.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education ,TVEE, Dr Abiola Arogundade said on Tuesday in Abuja, that the beneficiaries would receive training in three tracks such as Graphics/Artificial Intelligence ,AI, Makeup and Fashion Designing.

She noted that each participant would receive a complete training kit to enable them commence or expand their chosen enterprise after the programme.

Arogundade said that graphics/AI trainees will receive laptops, while Makeup trainees will receive fully equipped makeup kits to support their transition from training to enterprise.

Fashion Designing trainees will also receive sewing machines and starter kits to help them turn their newly acquired skills into sustainable businesses.

The programme will end in October, marking the completion of the training for the beneficiaries.

As part of the Federal Government’s digital empowerment drive, 500 tablets will also be distributed to young Nigerians during the grand finale.

Arogundade informed that the initiative reflected the government’s commitment to equipping young Nigerians with practical skills, productive tools and opportunities for economic participation.

Through the NPRGS, the government is supporting skills development and entrepreneurship as pathways to improved livelihoods and greater economic opportunities for Nigerian youths.

EHCON Unveils Technology To Phase-out Emissions, Protect Public Health

BY CHIKA OKEKE, Abuja The Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON) has unveiled a technology meant to phase-out Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and protect public health from emerging diseases, in line with the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.  Tagged Oxytane Fuel Additive, it is designed to enhance engine performance, increase fuel efficiency by over 25 percent, and reduce harmful emissions by up to 70 percent. It has been tested on high-capacity generators, including at the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation. Oxytane works by cleaning fuel injectors, removing carbon deposits, and improving combustion in petrol, diesel, and kerosene engines.
