BY CHIKA OKEKE, Abuja Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo In commemoration of Workers' Day, the Federal Government has declared Thursday May 1, as a public holiday. The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government. In a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani, he emphasised the need for peace to drive industrialisation and economic growth. Tunji-Ojo commended workers for their diligence and sacrifice, adding that their efforts are largely responsible for the greatness of the country and the respect Nigeria commands in the comity of nations. He said: "There is dignity in labour; the dedication and commitment to the work we do, is vital to nation-building." The minister encouraged workers to imbibe the culture of innovation and productivity.
